How to make it?

Follow these few ingredients and simple steps to create this homemade dark chocolate popsicle recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Le Chocolat des Iles dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Firstly, in a large saucepan, gently heat the chocolate until it melts completely.
  2. Next, add the sugar, cornstarch, and cocoa powder. Use a whisk to stir everything together until a crumbly mixture forms.
  3. After that, pour in the milk and increase the heat to medium-high. Keep whisking the mixture until it thickens and smoothly coats the back of a spoon. This should take about 5 minutes.
  4. Now, add a pinch of salt, some vanilla, and a bit of butter to enhance the flavors. Allow the mixture to cool down for approximately 10 minutes.
  5. Once it’s cooled, pour the mixture into popsicle molds. Pop the molds into the freezer for at least 2 hours, but the best results come from leaving them overnight.
  6. When you’re ready to enjoy your popsicles, remove them easily from the molds by running the mold under warm water. If you like, you can top the popsicles with sprinkles or drizzle some extra melted chocolate for added deliciousness!

These homemade dark chocolate popsicles will surely be a hit on a hot summer day, and you can store any extras by placing them in a large zip-lock bag and keeping them in the freezer. Enjoy!
